Youth Action Nepal (YOAC-2003) is a leading youth NGO committed in the field of Democracy, Peace and Social Harmony, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Human Rights issues. YOAC believes on Duty Culture, Partnership, Volunteerism and Youth Participation as valued principles of change and holistic development. No Youth No Development: because Nation Building is in the hand of Youth. Hence, 'Youth Involvement for Nation Building' is what YOAC alone stands for.

  • To develop YOAC as a Human Rights Learning Center to prepare multiplier frontline HR activists from grassroots to national level.
  • To increase meaningful youth participation by promoting democratic culture in decision making level
  • To engage 40,000 youths in SRHR to establish youth friendly SRH service and advocate at decision level
  • To engage 500 local youth peace facilitators to build five model villages for social harmony.
  • To initiate activities for institutional development and promote human resource development within YOAC, among partners and volunteers.

Chairperson
Pawan Roy (30 yrs)

Pawan RoyMr. Pawan Roy is marked of the prime characters of Youth Action Nepal since its inception. He has been playing a crucial role to enhance YOAC being a successful youth leader. Mr. Roy is proud of YOAC who is represented from Madeshi community. He is an enthusiast, educated, creative, proactive and cheerful youth leader having enough experience working at rural and urban youth. He has an in-depth knowledge and keen interest working on youth issue, human rights, peace and social harmony. He believes that youths are prime force of change but need no discrimination on the basis of sex, race, culture, linguistic variation, region and politic to bring the storm of change. He opines that education is a prime factor that can open the door of ample opportunity and finally empower you to take a lead.

Rajendra Adhikari (27 yrs)

Rajendra AdhakariRajendra Adhikari is an energetic, active and educated youth figure from mid-western terai region. He has a long and real experience working on youth issue and peace keeping process at local level and regional level. He is a good advocate on youth issues. He has been working as a coordinator for YOAC in mid –western region for a couple of years. Besides it, he is working for an organization “Search for Common Ground” in Nepal that works for children and youth.

Gopi Krishna Bhattarai (26 yrs)

Gopi Krishna BhattaraiMr. Gopi Krishna Bhattarai, one of the founder and true crew members of Youth Action Nepal since its establishment. He is an educated, bold and active youth having long working experience on human rights, journalism and social justice. He believes that peace is possible where human rights is respected. He is interested working on human rights issues at national and international level. He has enough working skill on fact finding mission on human rights violation incident in Nepal. Currently, he is working for Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC).

Rupa Kumari Upreti (27 yrs)

Rupa UpretiMs. Rupa Kumari Upreti, permanently from central part of terai region and completed her Masters degree in rural development from Tribhuwan University. She is an active in networking, campaigning and also in training. She has been working at Youth Action Nepal since half a decade. She has nice working experience on gender and social inclusion issues related with women and marginalized communities at rural and urban area. She is also interested working on youth political issues.

Bhawana Bhatta (26 yrs)

Bhawana BhattaMrs. Bhawana Bhatta, permanently from mid western region of Nepal. She is an active, educated, cheerful youth having long working experience in human rights, democracy and peace activism in Nepal being as a civil society youth leader. She successfully completed her responsibility at YOAC being a treasurer, project coordinator, trainer, and campaigner. She reached out many young people in Nepal working on Peace and social harmony related issues. She loves to work on gender and social inclusion related issues of the young people in Nepal. She is doing her Master Degree in sociology from Tribhuwan University and active in writing articles related with youth and women vulnerabilities.

Roma Devi Kishan (28 yrs)


Roma Devi KisanMs.Roma Devi Kisan, permanently from western development region of Nepal. She is doing her bachelor degree in English and Sociology from Tribhuwan University. She has been involving in social work since 2003 and focusing on dalit and women rights issues in Nepal. She has a long teaching experience in private and public schools. She loves to work on dalit and marginalized community issues to promote their meaningful participation at local and national level. She is also a founder member of a social organization “Dalit Empowerment Centre”, in Baglung.

Rudra Prasad Dhital (28 yrs)


RudraMr. Rudra Prasad Dhital is an active, educated and dynamic personality permanent residence in central region of Nepal. He has a long experience working as a Human rights activist in community and regional level. Besides his involvement in human rights, he has engaged in teaching profession in Bara. He is also known as a journalist and spent his past seven years working for Kripa Daily. He is one of the founder members of a social organization called Chapter Nepal, Bara.
 
   
 
 
 
  Organizational Structure  
     
 
General Assembly is the supreme body of organisation which elects executive committee in every two years. General Assembly also has authority to the approval of financial and progress report of organisation carried out in past year and also directs to adopt certain policies and programmes and the amendment of existing policies and programmes.

Executive Committee has the authority to develop policies and programmes of organisation in depth and take all organisational responsibilities as per the guidance of General Assembly. Executive Committee will hold meeting in every two months to the approval of already adopted policies and programmes and to make new decisions. Executive committee will also have authority to the formation of General Secretariat who has authorised to lead day-to-day office works as per the given authority by the executive committee. Executive committee will also have authority to the nomination of five member advisory board as per the need of organisation.

General Secretariat will led by either executive Chairperson or Secretary-General or the person specified by the decision of executive committee. General Secretariat will have responsibilities for the operation of day-to-day office work, contacting volunteers, members, professional group and network organisations, fundraising, building partnership and networking with national and international organisations, implementation of project activities, management and supervision of other staffs and volunteers and other essential work as per the need of organisation.

General members, volunteers, professional groups and the network organisation will work under the policy thrust of organisation as per the decision of General assembly. General members will have authority to be the delegate of General Assembly where as volunteers, professional group and the network organisations’ representative will be the observer of the assembly.
