District Democracy Monthly Series Jhapa, Bara, Dang, Palpa, Kailali |

Monthly discussion series on democracy in each project location is being carried out throughout the year. The discussion will make the local young people to unite against the social evils and pave the ways out to strengthen the democracy. The learning will be also shared amongst the local youth groups, women groups, right holders and other governing structure at the VDC level. The discussion program will then have appositive impact to the local level to make their own decision with transparent mechanism and to sustain the developmental activities by themselves. There will be altogether 60 discussion series in five different districts in the year 2009.

Under "Pathways to Peace " movement initiated by trios- Youth Action Nepal, Youth Initiatives and Associations of Youth Organizations Nepal - YOAC is carriying out 10 district based consultations, four regional consultations and a National Consultation discussing amongst young people form the target locations. The one day district and two day regional consultation will yield a process to draft a youth chater as a fnal outcomes of it. The regualr submission of the outcomes through the consultations to various comittees is going well. Through this inititation YOAC is also supporting the drafting committees in an informal way to incorporate the Youth voices in the new constitution.
YOAC will be moving to Bara, Kapilvastu, Palpa, Dolakha very soon to start the consultations agian. |

Study Session on Human Rights, Democracy and Constitution making Process Kathmandu May 20- 27, 2009 |

Youth Action Nepal (YOAC) is a youth led and youth focused non-for-profit organization working on the areas of youth and development since 2003. Its areas of focus are: Human Rights, Peace & Social Harmony, Democracy and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights(SRHR). It has been working on the areas of youth and development for protecting and promoting human rights values, particularly among the youth. And thereby, contributing to the transformation of society as a whole.
YOAC acknowledges the key role that youths can play in this crucial phase of new constitution making process. Thus, to promote the knowledge of aspiring youth leaders in human rights, democracy and constitution making process, YOAC is organizing Study Session on Human Rights, Democracy and Constitution Making Process from 20-27 May 2009 in Kathmandu. |
