GFMD National consultation Jhapa, Bara, Dang, Palpa and Kailali district September and October 2010
Conceived as an informal, multilateral and State-led process, the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) is intended to add value to the current debate on international migration and development by fostering international cooperation, enhancing inter-State dialogue and discuss and promote new policy ideas in the field of migration and its interrelation with development. This year's GFMD is being organized in Mexico.
In order to compile the issues and recommendations from various stakeholders throughout the country, and advocate those in the GFMD meeting, Youth Action Nepal in collaboration with Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) Nepal members WOREC, PNCC and Pourakhi is organizing local and national consultations in the themes for GFMD. The discussions will be based on the three round table theme.
Migration Information Center Establishment Jhapa, Chitwan, Palpa, Dang and Kailali September 2010
YOAC in partnership with United Nations Development Fund for Women (Part of UN Women), UNIFEM, Nepal are establishing Migration Resource Centre in three districts of Nepal. Similarly, two other information center are also being established in Jhapa and Chitwan districts. The main aim of these resource centers is to ensure that potential migrant workers, migrant workers and their families, in three districts, have increased access to appropriate and accurate information for safe and productive foreign labor migration at local level. The resource centers will begin their operation from September 2010. We would, therefore, appreciate if your organization could support us with sets (for three districts) of resource materials that may be relevant to keep in the migration resource center. It may include IEC materials, books, booklets, posters, stickers, hands-outs, audio/visual materials, flip-charts and such. Contact: +977-1-4771535

An open discussion and learning platform for youth to share and work together to widen their understanding for the contribution of their community . The content of this program is based on the needs and recommendations of participants and is flexible and open, and based on the current politico, socio and economic situation.
